Today’s spark is the phrase “I Am a Keeper of the Holy Flame.” What is the Holy Flame? Is it Excitement? Is it Wonder? Is it Love? Is it Enthusiasm? Innocence? Amazement? Inspiration? Is it Passion? Curiosity? A sense of Celebration? Or Delight? The answer is: extremely yes – to every single one of these. And yes to many like them – just as many as our language can afford. The Holy Flame is Life expressed. It simmers at the center of us all. Still: “holiness” means specialness. Such “specialness” means purpose by design. The Holy Flame conveys a special purpose in each story – fire sprouts a different dance from wick to wick. The fact is that each one of us contributes in a way that is original, on purpose, incomparable, and absolutely new. So what, then, does it mean to be a Keeper of the Holy Flame? How do we find that Specialness? How can we feed the Flame alive within? Amazingly, the answer is to magnify what elevates – to honor that which amplifies our glow. This means to recognize the wisdom in permitting what is natural to flow. There is a guidance in Excitement; timing speaks through Inspiration; every life expands itself from Love to Love. The light of Wonder quiets worry. Obligation yields to Passion. Celebration feeds the fire. Purpose shines. Each one of us embodies this. The question is: how readily? The specialness is evident. Each dance proceeds to beautify the world.
